This 10A variable model suits 12V batteries from about 7Ah to 220Ah. For two-wheelers only, see the 12V 3A bike charger; for cars, the 12V 6A charger; for large tubular inverter banks, the 12V 20A charger; and for a fixed-output 10A unit, the 12V 10A analog charger.
Variable current control, live digital ammeter, Boost and Float modes — features more often seen on higher-priced chargers, available here at ₹3,234.
Rotary dial sets charge from near-zero to 10A. Charge a 5Ah bike battery at 0.5A or a 200Ah tubular inverter at 10A — manual control across the 7Ah–220Ah range.
Large digital meter shows live charging current. As charging progresses the current may decrease; use the battery manufacturer’s charging specification to determine when charging is complete.
BOOST for fast charging a discharged battery. FLOAT is suitable for long-term maintenance charging of a fully charged battery. One switch — you control the mode.
Current tapers to near-zero as battery reaches full charge. Suitable for inverter and DG set batteries where continuous maintenance charging is required.
Compact, light, cool-running. High-frequency switching design — lighter and cooler-running than typical transformer chargers on long charge cycles.
Overload, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection helps protect the charger against incorrect connections and short circuits. Suitable for long-term maintenance charging when used in Float mode.
The 160–280V AC input range covers the voltage fluctuation common on rural supply, city mains and generator power, so a separate stabiliser is not usually needed.
Automatic chargers may display "bad battery" on deeply discharged cells and refuse to start. This charger can initiate charging at 1–2A on some deeply discharged batteries that automatic chargers may reject.
Samco Battery was established in 2000 by Arender Siali, trained at the Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) — India's premier government institution for electrochemical science — and a life member of the Society for Advancement of Electrochemical Science & Technology (SAEST). Our chargers are designed by an electrochemist who understands battery chemistry, charging curves, plate chemistry and failure modes at a scientific level — not by importers or traders.
In 25 years from 21 Gokhale Market, Kashmere Gate, Delhi, Samco Battery has shipped to over 19,000 PIN codes across India — from metro cities to remote villages, from Tier 1 commercial buyers to individual farmers and homeowners. Every product is built for the Indian power grid, Indian climate and Indian battery brands.

A 12V 10 Amp SMPS Battery Charger converts 160–280V AC mains to regulated 12V DC at up to 10A to charge 12V lead-acid batteries. The Samco Battery version adds a variable 0–10A current knob, live digital ammeter, and manual Boost/Float switch. It charges 12V lead-acid batteries from 7Ah (motorcycle) to 220Ah (large tubular inverter), with the current set to suit each battery. Sold and shipped from Delhi since 2000.
A variable-current SMPS charger with Float mode is well suited to inverter batteries. The Samco 12V 10A SMPS Charger at ₹3,234 charges 100–200Ah tubular batteries at a commonly used 10% Ah charging rate. Float mode is designed for long-term battery maintenance and helps reduce the risk of overcharging when the charger is used according to the battery manufacturer’s requirements. Compatible with Exide, Luminous, Amaron, Microtek, Okaya and Su-Kam batteries.
BOOST applies higher voltage for fast active charging of a discharged battery. FLOAT applies a lower maintenance voltage intended to keep a fully charged battery topped off while helping prevent overcharging. Toggle manually with the front panel switch. Useful for DG set starter batteries and inverter batteries kept on long-term maintenance charging.
Often, if the battery is still serviceable. Switch to BOOST mode and set the current knob to 1–2A. The charger applies a low current and, on a serviceable battery, terminal voltage may rise as charge is restored. Once it does, increase the current gradually. This can initiate charging on some deeply discharged batteries that automatic chargers may reject. A battery with a shorted cell, severe sulphation or physical damage may not accept a normal charge.
An SMPS charger is compact, light, efficient and cool-running, handling 160–280V AC. A transformer charger uses a heavy iron core, runs hot and is less efficient. The Samco SMPS charger offers variable current control, Boost/Float switching and a digital ammeter that transformer chargers do not provide.
All 12V lead-acid types: flat-plate, tubular, SMF (sealed maintenance-free), VRLA and AGM. GEL batteries often specify a lower charging voltage, so check the figure your battery manufacturer states and set the current knob accordingly before charging one. Not compatible with lithium batteries. Charges inverter, car, truck, tractor, motorcycle, DG set, UPS, solar, forklift and marine batteries from 7Ah to 220Ah.
For Exide or Luminous tubular inverter batteries (100Ah–200Ah), the Samco Battery 12V 10A SMPS Charger is ideal. Set the current knob to 10A for a 100Ah battery. Float mode is intended to keep the tubular battery topped up during long power cuts while helping reduce the risk of overcharging. Compatible with all tubular, flat-plate and SMF inverter batteries from Exide, Luminous, Amaron, Microtek and Okaya. Price: ₹3,234, free shipping all India.

To charge a dead car battery at home: connect the Samco 12V 10A charger clamps (red to +, black to −), switch to BOOST mode, set the current knob to 1–2A (start low for a deeply flat battery). The digital ammeter will show current flowing in. As voltage recovers after 30–60 minutes, increase current to 5–10A. A significant reduction in charging current can indicate the battery is approaching a charged state; verify against the battery manufacturer’s charging specifications. Suitable for common Indian car batteries — Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Honda, Toyota, Mahindra — from 35Ah to 100Ah. Price ₹3,234, ships from Delhi.
